I am a 25-year-old woman and I love men and I love Valentine’s Day. Here is my advice for you. Get 1 thing that is a traditional romantic gift, and get 1 thing that says something about your girlfriend’s personality. Or, even better, combine the two. For example, if she loves whales, you could get her candy that’s shaped like whales. Get her an experience. A concert, play, spa day, outdoors activity. Flowers die, candy gets eaten, and most gifts for meaningless holidays get forgotten and thrown away or donated. The memories from an experience last forever. What to get girlfriend for Valentines Day? Some background, my wonderful girlfriend is 21 and I’m 26. Dating for 4 months as of Valentine’s Day. But I’m struggling to think of something to get her for Valentine’s Day. We’re going to dinner and a movie. She doesn’t like flowers or jewelry so a lot of those classic trope gifts are out. Likewise on whether or not the girl should get her boyfriend something, though I honestly don't see why not. If girls will expect a Valentine's day gift as well as demand gender equality, it's only fair that the gift-giving goes both ways. I like her. We text a lot also. We’ll probably have a third date on Saturday. We don’t know each other super well yet, but I think if the next few dates go well I’d ask her to be my girlfriend. Anyways, I’m not a Valentine’s Day guy at ALL. I don’t think she is either. It actually didn’t cross my mind until I saw the calendar. I am considering purchasing the Lego Roses for my girlfriend as a Valentine's Day gift. Due to her allergies, traditional flowers are not an option. I think the Lego Roses would serve as a thoughtful alternative, given the fact she has an appreciation for sentimental gestures and ideas. Is it appropriate for me to get them flowers and candy for Valentines Day? Or should I just do candy so it is non-romantic? Or do I buy them nothing? Note: I would be giving them the gifts when all 3 of us are together cause it’s completely friendly. TLDR: should I (20M) get my two best friends (20F) a gift for Valentine’s Day? So my(14) crush(14) and I like eachother and have decided to hang out as friends more because we don’t know eachother That well. I don’t know if I should get them a gift or not. In my opinion, Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be about spending money on actually gift gifts but as a way to show your love for each other. That being said, if you’d prefer spending some money on an actual gift, I would do something like a couples massage or a boudoir photo shoot or something like that. My wife made me a box containing 52 dates. Some were blue sky dependant, some were an evening, some a weekend. We put a pin in a map of Wales and went on a road trip, had a picnic, went to a National Trust property, had a date in a bookstore, went on a food crawl where you have a starter in one restaurant, then a main in another and dessert in another. I am the more masculine one in the relationship and she does tend to treat me more like a man, where she doesn’t give me much reassurance, no valentine’s day gift, makes me come see her, etc. I know I could just tell her how I feel but I feel like I’ve been explaining a lot of things that make me upset lately and i’m just scared to add on. You can get a cute bouquet for like $20 or less, it’s thoughtful, romantic, and it doesn’t come with a lot of pressure for “reciprocation” in case she didn’t get you anything (which is a risk you take if you have only gone on a couple dates and not discussed gifts for Valentine’s Day, it’s not necessarily a red flag) Good luck!! If my husband were snooping around here, trying to get gift ideas, the top one on my list would be the house being cleaned up and organized as a surprise. Each girl is different, though, and, although some girls would love a make-up gift card, that would be a shit gift for me since I hate make-up.
