When I was a freshman in college my parents decided the wanted to come visit me the weekend of Valentines day and wanted me to come out and meet them in the city for dinner that night. I was a little pissed as I wanted to go get drunk at a bar somewhere and take advantage of all the single, lonely ladies looking for some love, but oh well. For mine and my SO's anniversary (which is only a week and a half off from Valentine's Day), I did a 365 note jar. The idea is that the person gets to open up one note every day for the next year with a message of some sort from you, usually things like your favorite memories with them, reasons you love/appreciate them. It was a chilly day in the park today for our Outdoor Musical Storytime, but we still had a great time celebrating Valentine's Day with stories and songs.
