Miami University has a tradition called “Miami Mergers,” which occurs when graduates from Miami ultimately marry each other, or "merge." Of the entire Miami alumni population, approximately 14% are part of a Miami Merger couple. The university celebrates this tradition by sending Valentine’s Day cards to the couples each year. After both graduated in 2017, Nick and Ciera got engaged in December 2020 and got married the following October.
