"Tak: The Hideous New Girl" is the 20th episode of the first season of Invader Zim. It first premiered on May 10th 2002, on Nickelodeon. It is the Season One finale. It is Valentine's Day, and after the Principal allows the children to celebrate the holiday this year, everyone starts giving out the traditional Valentine meat slabs. Zim is of course horrified by the meat (due to his allergic Valentine's Day is an Earth holiday celebrated by Humans that was only seen in "Tak: The Hideous New Girl". In the Invader Zim universe, as in all others, the purpose of Valentine's Day is for people to admit and/or show love to another. This was originally expressed by the distribution and gifting of candy and cards, plus other items. However, an unknown event (one that Ms. Bitters stated to Whatever led to meat being given out on Valentine's Day is something Miss Bitters doesn't want to talk about. The second half of the episode opens with Zim in the middle of a fight with a Ham Demon. No explanation for this is ever given. However, there was a plan to show Zim battling the Ham Demon, but it was cut for time. It’s Valentines Day and everyone is celebrating by giving out meat valentines, but when a new girl named Tak arrives and starts giving out sausages, Zim believes she has a crush on him so he exploits the opportunity to examine human love rituals. Ms. Bitters is on a phone, where she is quite upset. She hangs up and tells the kids that despite her moral outrage, the principal is allowing them to celebrate valentines day, and the whole class, except for Zim and Dib, are happy about this, throwing things around.
